JFS Purim Shpiel 2025

The second year of a Joshua Epstein Purim Shpiel. This year, the theme was 'Game Shows'!

JFS Purim Shpiel 2025

In Summer of 2024, we started planning the Purim Shpiel for March 2025. Our initial theme ideas were:

  • "Old Stories / Nursery Rhymes (e.g. Little Red Riding Hood)"
  • "Childrens Cartoons (e.g. Peppa Pig)"
  • "Game Shows (e.g. Countdown, The Chase, The Price is Right)"
  • "Video Games"
  • "TikTok Trends"
  • "Horror"
  • "Panto"
  • "Detective Mystery"

After much consideration, we decided to go with "Game Shows" as the theme.

Planning and Script Writing

During Summer Holidays, the planning process started. We started by planning our game shows to include in the Shpiel and our initial list included:

  • "Family Feud"
  • "Who Wants to be a Millionaire"
  • "Wheel of Fortune"
  • "Price is Right"
  • "Deal or No Deal"
  • "The Newlywed Game"
  • "Come Dine with Me"
  • "Dragons Den"
  • "Are You Smarter than a Year 7?"

In addition, we planned adverts to include randomly between game shows:

  • "Go Compare"
  • "Caterlink Advert" (Caterlink is our school's catering company)
  • "Your teacher can now..."
  • "Music Spot"?

Then we moved onto the opening sequence, which, as done in the previous years' Shpiel, we opened with the Head Student team and Head Teacher. This allows us to create a short sequence while not "using up" a department which we would want to use for the main content later on.
